At one time I had it working 32 bit then gtk changed and all fell apart.
So now I am doing a re-write to be less dependent on external code.
In this effort 64 bit came along and I was back at square 0.
So I started writing the compiler in the native IW language.
Over the last year and a half I have built and discarded 4 versions.
I sure could use a second set of eyes from a compiler savy person.
Also looking for a younger person to take all of my IW stuff over - I am 69 and
definately do not have the go I once had - often fall asleep at the terminal - zzzzzzzzzz

Why - just to see if I could.
I started with Sparky as the basis of IWLinux - used for about a year.
Had everything working on 32 bit  - compiler and distro - then BAM gtk changed a bunch of stuff.
Next I migrated to PinguyOS - great OS for a basis of a new Linux. Seems to be
having growing pains and owner is threatening to abandon it.

So - IWLinux - It will be for Programmers building Compilers - right now just starting out but functional Linux.
Right now my IW compiler is not working - needs to migrate to 64 bit - what a headach that is.

Current kernel 4.2.0-38-generic (working on upgrade to 4.4-13')
Includes AUFS so I can make bookable USB.
Has parts of IWB Compiler but not complete.

Over the last few years I have built LFS systems, tux based systems, Debian based systems, Ubuntu based systems, and
several others, all of which has led me to IWLinux.

Will it ever be a noticed distro - most likely not since it built for me, by me.

Discuss Compilers and/or Linux.
Everything else - not a good idea.

I have spent the last year+ trying to make a native language compiler written in the native lanugage.
I have read the lex/yacc stuff, the compiler tutorials, and tons of info on the web.
It all goes to a point and throws you in to sink or swim. I have been looking for someone to bounce questions
about what to do now.
I can tokenze stuff to the end of time. I am then left with the tokens and a dumb look.
I have the compiler written in C but doing it in the native language ..........
